My Diet Plan for Losing Weight Is…

I realize that when people hear the words Weight Watchers, they think of points and meetings, but I have chosen the online version of the program instead of going to the meetings.  Why?  Personal preference for one.  I tend to be so busy with work and everything else in my life, that finding time to go to meetings is very hard.  Also, I am a very technical person and I prefer the use of my computer to do what I need to do with this.

But what about the support system, you may ask?  Glad you asked.  I have a support system built in place already.  My wife is very supportive of what I am doing, and has already begun planning my meals with me for the next couple of weeks.  She has been to Sprouts once this week and I have an abundance of healthy snacks, foods and to be honest, the eating portion is taken care of.  Not only that, but she and my oldest daughter have joined the online version of Weight Watchers as well!  So every day at my house is a meeting!

So after joining Weight Watchers online, I have 63 daily points to use, plus an additional 42 weekly points I can draw from, should I go over the 63 in a day.  To be very honest here, I do not want to use the 42 additional points.  I do not want a crutch to lean on, knowing that I can go over my daily allotment of points.  In addition, I can earn points for various physical activities that I can utilize as well.  In my settings, I have chosen not to use these points.  Again, I do not want to go into a day knowing that I can rationalize overeating simply by saying I have more points to pull from.  Doing that, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of joining Weight Watchers and using it as a tool to lose weight and become healthier.

That is what I have chosen to do for the diet portion of this journey.  I joined yesterday, and started logging my foods and points right after I joined and will continue to do so from here on out.  I am not endorsing Weight Watchers, nor am I encouraging you, my readers, to join as this program may not be the best option for you in your weight loss journey.  I believe it to be the best option for me.  I will be writing other posts on other diet plans at a later time, as well as doing podcasts on those diet plans, so if you are curious, please stay tuned.  However, when it comes to your personal journey, do the research, talk to your doctor before starting a diet plan, and most of all, stick to it!
